Location Confirmed for the Astoria Craft Party

Hey there!

The Astoria Craft Party is a GO!  We'll be hosting it at the Fort George Lovell Building on August 24, 2012 from 4pm-8pm.

craft  (krft)n.1. Skill in doing or making something, as in the arts; proficiency

Join us as we celebrate our great community in Astoria, Oregon with a night of craft (and we're not talking scrapbooking, people!)  Craft Party is a celebration of meeting and making, of creativity and community. It’s a time to meet your neighbors and share a creative skill. It’s a time to have fun and party down with scissors in your hand (carefully, that is).

We have an amazing selection of activities planned.  Interested in photography?  Join us on our Photography Walking Tour/Workshop with Christy Chaloux Photography.  Have you dreamt of trying your hand at glass blowing?  Take part in our Glass Ornament Workshop at Fernhill Glass.  Have a brood of kids?  Don't worry we've got them covered, too.   And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Stay tuned for a complete list of activities and registration information in the weeks to come.  Sign up on the right sidebar to get email updates so you won't miss any information.  In the meantime, mark your calendars and spread the word.  Tweet it, share on facebook and tell your friends!  This is an event you won't want to miss!

Not quite sure what an Etsy Craft Party is?
In a nutshell, Craft Party is a celebration of meeting and making, of creativity and community. It’s a time to meet your neighbors and share a creative skill. It’s a time to have fun and party down with scissors in your hand (carefully, that is).
This year's theme is Wish You Were Here. With this as a guiding idea, we will create projects that reflects our hometown. Whether it be local and regional crafts, music, style, and food, ways to pay tribute to a notable landmark or place, an activity that tells local lore through handmade means, or any creative activity that speaks to this spirit of local flavor, we're considering it all!

We will be announcing further details about Craft Party 2012 in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
